CE Europe Limited is a company incorporated in England & Wales, with its registered office located  at The Metro Building, 2nd Floor, 1 Butterwick, Hammersmith, London W6 8DL, United Kingdom (herenafter referred to as “us” or “we”). 

 

Your privacy is important to us, and we are serious about protecting your personal data. This policy  describes how we process your personal data in the following circumstances: 

a) when you use our online services (e.g. websites);
b) when you contact us for technical support or general queries as an end-user;
c) when you participate in our marketing activities (e.g. competitions, giveaways);
d) when you apply for a position with us; and
e) when you provide or receive services as one of our vendors, business customers or business  partners (including media agencies and influencers). 

 

Please note that this policy does not apply to personal data processed within: (i) Capcom video game  products, and (ii) any services, such as ‘CAPCOM ID’, ‘Resident Evil.Net’ and ‘Capcom Unity’, operated by other Capcom group companies (e.g., Capcom Co., Ltd., Capcom U.S.A., Inc.). 1. Information we collect 

 

We may collect the following information: 

a) Information you provide directly to CE Europe Limited. This includes:  

• Your name, email address, postal address, telephone number;
• Information you provide when you contact us for technical support. For example, your  relevant account information such as your username and details of issues you have  experienced;
Information required to enter our competitions or promotional giveaways. For example  social media account information (e.g. handle and channel names, country of residence);  and
Information required to enter into business relationships with us, including your title  and payment information (where applicable).  

 

b) information you provide whilst using our online services such as CE Europe Limited’s  website. This includes:  

• IP address;
• Browser information including your browser type and the language you prefer;
Information stored and collected from your device, using mechanisms like cookies,  browser web storage (including HTML 5) and application data caches.

• Your name, work history, qualifications, and academic background if you authorise  recruitment agencies to share this with us with respect to recruitment activities; and
Information about your PC settings, platform details, and product purchasing and  playing history, where you authorise Capcom’s customer support agents to share such  information with us to resolve issues or inquiries. 

 

2. How we use your information 

 

We generally use the information we collect to help us provide, improve or analyse our  services. We will process your personal data in the circumstances outlined below. If we need  to collect your data for any other reason, we will inform you prior to processing your data. 

 

a) When you use our online services (e.g. websites)

We will process your personal data when necessary for the following purposes: 

• Providing the online service you request;
• Measuring web audience engagement; and
• Re-targeting advertisements via cookies. 

 

Basis for processing: Some processing activities are necessary for the performance of a  contract (e.g., providing the requested online service). Some processing activities (such as  web audience measurement and re-targeting advertisements using cookies) are carried out  based on your consent. Other processing activities are carried out in our legitimate interests  to provide high-quality services and analyse the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.  

 

b) When you contact us for technical support or general queries as an end-user We will process your personal data when necessary for the following purposes: 

• Responding to customer support requests including general inquiries, feedback  and/or fan letters;
• Resolving issues that you have asked us to address; and
• Improving our products and/or services. 

 

Basis for processing: Some processing activities are necessary for the performance of a  contract (e.g., terms and conditions of customer support services). Some processing  activities are carried out based on your consent. Other processing activities are carried in our legitimate interests to provide high-quality customer service and improve our products  and/or services.  

 

c) When you participate in our marketing activities (e.g. competitions, giveaways) We will process your personal data when necessary for the following purposes: 

• Performing our contractual obligations to you in relation to relevant marketing  activities;
• Conducting statistical research on our products and/or services; and
• Improving our products and/or services. 

 

Basis for processing: Some processing activities are necessary for the performance of a  contract (e.g., marketing activities). Some processing activities are carried out based on your consent. Other processing activities are carried out in our legitimate interests to  provide high-quality services and analyse the effectiveness of our marketing activities and improving products and/or services. 

 

d) When you apply for a position with us

We will process your personal data when necessary for the following purpose: 

• Assessing your suitability for the position and taking further steps in our  recruitment process, if necessary. 

 

Basis for processing: This processing activity is carried out in our legitimate interest to  conduct an effective recruitment process. 

 

e) When you provide or receive services as one of our vendors, business customers or business partners (including media agencies and influencers)

We will process your personal data when necessary for the following purposes: 

• Performing the contract between you (or your company) and us or taking steps at  your request prior to entering into such contract;
• Contacting you with regard to the business relationship between you and us; Performing credit analysis;
• Keeping a record of payments; and
• Maintaining a database of our business partners and contracts with them. 

 

Basis for processing: Some processing activities are necessary for the performance of a  contract (e.g., vendor agreements, influencer engagement). Some processing activities are  carried out based on your consent. Other processing activities are carried out in our  legitimate interests to maintain, perform and record the business relationship between you  and us. 

 

In addition to the circumstances and purposes listed above; 

 

(1) we may store your personal data included in emails sent or received through our email  addresses (including, but not limited to, those ending in @capcom.com) for archival  purposes. This processing is carried out in our legitimate interests to maintain an archive of  our general correspondence; and  

 

(2) we may be required to process personal data to comply with legal obligations, including but  not limited to: (i) cooperating with law enforcement authorities, and (ii) addressing unlawful  content or conduct where required by applicable laws. 

 

3.What happens if you refuse to provide your information

 

You are not obliged to provide your personal data, however, providing your personal data may  be necessary in certain situations, such as entering into a contract, participating in our  marketing activities, or engaging in a recruitment process and/or business relationship. If you  choose not to provide your personal data, it may limit our ability to provide you with our  services or adequate level of customer support.

 

4. How we store your information

 

Personal data we collect is stored in secure operational environments that are designed so as  not to be accessible by the public. Your personal data will be stored only for the period  necessary for the specified processing purpose/s. After such period has elapsed, your personal  data may be kept in a form which no longer permits identification (anonymisation), or solely for  statistical purposes with appropriate technical and organisational security measures.

 

5. Data transfer

 

Depending on the services you request and the purposes outlined in Section 2, we may transfer  and store your information outside the country where you reside, including the United States of  America. The data protection laws of the countries where the data has been transferred and  stored may be different from the laws of the regions you reside in. We rely on legal mechanisms  to support transfers of data outside of the EEA and UK under the relevant data protection laws.  We ensure that the country your data is transferred to has been granted “adequacy status” by  either by European Commission (EC) or UK’s data supervisory authority (“ICO”). Where no  adequacy grant exists, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, including (i) UK  international data transfer agreements or EC standard data protection contractual clauses and  (ii) the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (including its UK Extension) if applicable. 6. Information we share with third parties

 

Depending on the services you request and the circumstances outlined in Section 2, we may  share your personal data with our service providers, contractors, platform operators and  professional advisors who assist in providing our services.  

 

Additionally, as part of Capcom’s global operations, we may share your personal data with other  Capcom group companies, including our head office, Capcom Co., Ltd., a Japanese company  located at 3-1-3 Uchihirano-machi, Chuo-ku, Osaka 540-0037, Japan. We rely on a legitimate  interest in sharing your information with other Capcom group companies, for the purposes of  managing internal administration and providing high-quality services. (This may involve transfers  of data to countries where our group operates, including Japan, France, Germany, the United  States of America, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan.) Where such transfers occur, we ensure  compliance with the UK GDPR (the retained EU law version of the General Data Protection  Regulation ((EU) 2016/679)) or the EU GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation ((EU)  2016/679). 7. Collection of personal information from children

 

Unless otherwise stated, our products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly  collect personal information from minors under the age of digital consent (which is 13 years old  in the UK, but may vary depending on the regions where you reside). If an online services user identifies themselves as a minor, or we reasonably suspect that they are a minor, we may (i)  cease processing and delete their data; (ii) take reasonable steps to verify their age, using  approved age assurance tools compliant with regulatory requirements; or (iii) obtain consent  from their parent/legal guardian before providing age-appropriate services. We comply with relevant child data protection laws, including the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and ICO’s Age Appropriate  Design Code (Children’s Code).

 

8. Your rights in respect of your information

 

If you are a resident of the UK or EU, under applicable UK and EU Data Protection Laws  (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR), you have the right (i) to request access to your personal  data; (ii) to request rectification or erasure of your personal data; (iii) to request restriction of  any processing that you are concerned with; (iv) to object to processing of your personal data;  (v) to ‘data portability’; and (vi) to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In addition, if  our processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you can at any time withdraw the  consent you have given to us. Please note that such withdrawal of consent shall not affect the  lawfulness of our processing before any withdrawal.

If you consider that our processing of personal data relating to you infringes Data Protection  Laws, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a national data protection authority (e.g.  the ICO in the United Kingdom).

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page and become effective  immediately.
